Abbey Machinery commissioned Healy Partners Architects to prepare a masterplan for their 32 acre site located adjacnet to the vilage of Toomevara. This included the design of a 8,200 sq mtr new agricultural machinery making facility for their company. The masterplan included the overall development of the site to facilitate 8 no. additional developed sites.

The Abbey Machinery development comprising 8,200 sqm of production floor space was undertaken on a green field site. It is primarily a steel framed structure with insulated metal clad enclosure. The administrative components of the development extend over 2 floors from within the production area shell, identifying the main entrance to the building.

The design solution sought to reduce the scale of the development and harmonise its expression within the context of its rural setting. This was achieved through cladding profiles & colour selection, and manipulation of building massing while retaining true to the research, engineering, fabrication and assembly processes housed within.
