Nenagh Arts Centre
The development of Nenagh Community Arts Centre introduced a modern intervention and extension sympathetic to the existing building, surrounding environment and town fabric along with the refurbishment of the existing Town Hall, a protected structure dating from mid 19th century.
The concept aim was to establish a new connectivity with the existing Nenagh Castle and suggests the notion of future outdoor performances in the Castle grounds with the round tower of the Castle providing a fantastic backdrop for the Arts.
It is hoped that this core site within an historic area of Nenagh town centre will be enlivened with the introduction of a large ground floor community cafe extending its use to the external spaces, gallery/display area for local and national artists and art groups, studio space for travelling artists and a new 220 seat flexible theatre space.
